Last minute holidays to Tenerife are at your right at your fingertips thanks the Beat the Brochure. Just a few hours from the UK, Tenerife is one of the largest of the Canaries, a volcanic island with a violent geological history. Only a few hundred miles from North Africa, the climate is superb all year round.

There's a wide choice of excellent resorts and enough attractions to keep you entertained if you're not into lying on the beach.

  • Last minute Tenerife breaks can take you to Costa Adeje, which runs right from Playa de las Americas north through Los Cristianos  to the stunning coastline at La Caleta, taking in the popular holiday resorts of Fanabe, Torviscas, San Eugenio and Puerto Colon, which together make up the super-resort of Playa del Duque. An excellent walk to help you get the feel of the place. Take a break at a cool taverna or bar and enjoy a rest after your efforts!

  • Cheap last minute holidays to Tenerife take you to the lovely Costa del Silencio and Las Galletas in eastern Tenerife. You don't need to go far from the tourist areas before you find exciting cities, traditional villages, ancient towns and lovely little fishing ports. Hire a car or take the bus – the island's public transport is very good.

  • Or how about the water sports Mecca of El Medano, home to excellent windsurfing, kite surfing and board surfing. Or go for Garachico, a small town on the northern coast not far from Puerto de la Cruz. It's a gorgeous place mainly known for its famous rock pools, a popular attraction formed when a volcanic eruption filled the port with boiling hot lava in 1706
